People talk about westernization. They talk about being open minded. They set up camps, seminars, workshops and what not in a hope of seeing to change people's mentality. But the fact is everything's just so screwed up. Nothing works for these kinda hypocrites. The mentality sticks to a thing wherein a guy has to be just a girl's brother. I ask this simple thing, which era are we actually living in? If a brother hugs his sister in public it's manners and protection and security for a girl but if a guy whom the girl really trust hugs her it's cheap, not the values of the family, and hey how dare you even touch her? You might be dangerous to her. You might wanna kill her. I'm not saying that the world outside is trustable I'm only saying if we try to trust each other we'll all end up having faith in each others decisions. I'm not saying we forget our values and degrade our self respect I'm only saying to try seeing things in an open perspective. A respect given is equal to a hundred times respect earned.

Movie Review: Mohenjodaro

Director Ashutosh Gowariker has never failed to inscribe the audience when it comes to historical movies. He's such an expert that he gets down to the core and makes such kinda movies which takes the Indian cinema to absolutely another level. Hrithik Roshan after Jodha Akbar has made another remarkable performance in Mohenjodaro. The movie has a lot of sand, peculiar costumes and some dismal computer graphics, particularly in the damp climax. The VFX of the movie is absolutely stunning and it surely gives goosebumps in the end. Though there have been many controversies regarding the movies's plot line but it's truly a must watch. The ancient history of Mohenjodaro is not burdensome. The movie has depicted itself in such a way that I would even suggest the school teachers to make the students watch it. Another thing in the movie which has not camouflaged itself is the music by A. R. Rahman . The title track of the movie itself is noteworthy. The perfect use of instruments can only be done by Rahman sir in the industry. I feel that we should all be proud of the history of our country as none other country has such a vast and distinguished history. The movie should be seen by all the history lovers especially ancient history lovers.

The Indus Valley Civilization has always kept a vast account of syllabus for the students in the middle school. No doubt that those days in the class all this seemed to be a bore and we as students literally dozed off. But who knew that one day we'll actually see what we're studying and it would kill all the boredom of the ancient history we thought of. The movie was in class by itself.

Movie Review: Now you see me 2

A greater conscience and knowledge defines a great movie maker. Sequels are made to strike the minds of people with more creativity and a desire to awaken some old memories. Now You See Me 2 has finally cut the mustard and eradicated what you heard on the grapevine. However, the movie stays a bit low in this world that thrives on relativity and many of us would insist on the superiority of the prequel. The movie revolves around the Illusionists (four horsemen) designing a strong hustle and bustle to snub a tech magnate carrying and concealing unethical practices. However, their stern intentions turn serene when they find themselves caught between two stools. Talented names like Jesse Eisenberg, Dave Franco and Woody Harrelson have done a commendable job at playing characters with intricate complexities. The new face, Lizzy Caplan comes in as Lula who tries to create more impact by taking decisions at the drop of a hat. Such is the script by Ed Solomon (a clever, clever man). A prank is played on them when they discover that the man manipulating their actions is a tech prodigy named Water Mabry (Daniel Radcliffe) who lives his life on the theory “work for your own benefits’.Caught in the middle of the crossfire is Dylan Rhodes, (Mark Ruffalo) an FBI agent who is has his own personal agenda, to avenge his father. Few action scenes may catch your attention and leave you gaping, but more important is thoughts that the film provokes, as you innocently munch your movie snacks. Thereafter, the road to achieve supreme manifestation and magic tricks get wayward and you lose track of who is running after whom and why. The plot peaks with the horsemen running after Daniel Radcliffe for stealing a chip that can control all other chips. Still here? You must be a fan of the Director Jon.M CHU, who has undoubtedly won several hearts with his Step Up movies. But the movie goes beyond his reach too as the commotion escalates to its pinnacle following which the story starts to absquatulate. While the first part was a bit more gratifying, with puzzling magic tricks and quick chases, this one is a bit gaudier for the mind and you might have your hands up at the interval time. The prequel was a much more blast than this but NYSM2 undoubtedly managed to thrill it's fans by creating a zest in their hearts. The actors have done a "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" work. The eminent actors have kept the movie going and has impressed the viewers leaving no incredulity in their minds. Some are really amused by the new faces introduced and they have really given their all to match upto the expectations. This movie may not make you sit at the edge of your seat or contain great magic tricks as its predecessor, but, is surely panoply of different emotions, interesting characters and a road with twists and turns. Therefore, if you’re a fan of fast-paced thrillers, Now You See Me 2 may not be the absolute best within its genre but it definitely makes for an entertaining watch. Go for it. Rating: 3.5 stars

Movie Review: Udta Punjab

#UdtaPunjab After so many controversies the movie is worth watching. Those who saw it before the release, you're the people who have no respect for cinema or for the country. The first half of the movie starts with a chaotic scene wherein one needs to have full focus on what's actually happening. The movie develops a story which is truly remarkable. The director along with the actors have proved that a movie like Udta Punjab can not only promise to bring a change in the society but it also awakens the youth by telling where they are leading to. We all may be going for the movie just because of the publicity and attention it has gained but people who are really into drug addiction must see this movie. The movie has nothing controversial. Studying in Punjab for two years, I've seen and known these things pretty much. But all that I stood was for say no to drugs. Drugs might give a person a temporary euphoric aura but eventually it leads to death. By death I don't mean the physical absence but mostly the death of a person's mind. Taking drugs will not only affect the taker but the whole family has to pay the cost of it. People must realise that living is worthy only if it's happy living. One cannot run from sufferings but one can always try not to create it. I thank the cinema for making this kind of a movie and telling all of us that "Being Gabru" is not the motto of life. But being the real "Tommy Singh" is what we should intend for. Don't let Punjab die. Don't let India die. #SayNoToDrugs

Honor Killing

Allah says in Quran, "Whosoever kills an innocent human being, it shall be as if he has killed all mankind, and whosoever saves the life of one, it shall be as if he had saved the life of all mankind." (Qur'an 5:32) When we talk about "Honor Killing" , the general notion that comes to all of us is the homicide of a member of a family by other members, due to perpetrators' belief that the victim has brought shame or dishonor upon the family. But it is actually a death that is awarded to a person of a family for certain reasons which brings dishonor to its family. How can we determine the real meaning of 'dishonor' ? They say here, " If you violate the principles of a community or religion, usually for reasons such as refusing for an arranged marriage or being in a relationship that is an abashment to their family or having sex outside marriage, also dressing in a way that is conjectured unsuitable in the society and much more. Why does "Honor Killing" happen? The doctrine of honor killing states that, this type of act is primarily done to control the women's behavior, in particular regard to sexuality/male interaction/marriage. Another key aspect which is contemplated in the society is the concern of the reputation of the family in the community, and the besmirchment associated with losing social status in the society. The main victim of the honor killing is seen to be the woman of a family. In India, the main reason which evolves the to urge of practicing honor killing is the continuation of caste system. The caste system continues to be at its rigid best and also that rural areas refuse to change their perseverance towards the obsolete marriage practices. Hence they become coward in the fear of losing their caste status in the society through which they may avail perks leading them to commit this heinous crime. Another reason is the mentality of the people has not changed. The root of the cause for the increase in the number of honor killing is the lack of availability of wisdom and awareness in the rural areas and a result this crime is day by day increasing. What can we do to prevent such a thing from happening? Firstly the mentality of the people has to change. This change of mentality doesn't mean we become very lenient and casual in our lives and let things happen the way it is happening rather we must become wise and foresee the consequences of our daily acts we commit. Parents must understand their children and let them lead a life with their life partners and if they are discontented with their life partner they must think of something which would not bring harm or disgrace to selves and their partners and also family. If they intend to do something pernicious then they will lead a horrible married life which might even end in suicide. Secondly, we need to have stringent laws to tackle these kind of killings as this is a crime which can not be pardoned by anyone under any circumstance. Humans do not have the right to write down death sentences of innocent fellow humans.

Do not respect women!

Do not respect women! Such an eye catching title ? Isn’t it?  Read on.The article is in complete agreement with the title. So if you were expecting it to be a pathetic attempt at sarcasm, you will be disappointed. Respect Women. How many times have you read or heard this line in your daily life ? Most probably in Social media, Newspapers, online articles, comment sections etc. Have you paused to understand why is it more popular than its sibling : Respect Men. What? Respect Men ? Are you out of your mind ? I am not another FemiNazi posting a one sided rant about women issues and the problem’s they face because of Men. I will skip that discussion for some other day. Those issues exist for everyone of us. What bothers me about this whole  “Respect Women” philosophy is how this is being sold as the solution to all the problems Women face. A women got raped ?  Well respect women. ( Exactly, instead of teaching people that rape is actually lack of consent ). A women is being forced for dowry by her in laws. Well respect women. ( Instead of taking strict action against those who demand dowry ). A Women is being objectified by Media. Well , respect Women. ( Instead of accepting that a woman is capable of having natural sexual urges as well that makes her a normal human being). A Women does not get equal wages and job opportunities. Well, respect women. ( Instead of taking strict action against those who give biased treatment because of your gender ) And many other silly reasonings we see from people to support this “respect women” theory. Not single one of us bothered questioning the very existence of such statements. A simple google search of the word “Respect” results in admire (someone or something) deeply, as a result of their abilities, qualities, or achievements have due regard for (someone’s feelings, wishes, or rights). From the above meanings , we conclude that respect simply means giving regard to women’s feelings, wishes and her rights. The famous “Nirbhaya Rape Case”where an unofficial documentary was released by the BBC on the mentality of a rapist. “Koi izzatdaar ghar ki ladhki itni raat ko ghar se bahaar nahi nikalti”. Hence she does not deserve respect. Hence is it okay to rape her. ? Is it okay to rape women whom you do not respect ? This goes on to prove that how we tend to not use the literal meaning of the word ‘respect’ in the context of the Indian Society. How respect is supposed to be given to only those Women who devoid themselves of sex. So I ask you. Women who have multiple serial partners don’t deserve respect? “Aurat ghar ki izzat hoti hai”. Another popular saying in Indian Household that again associates women with respect and sex. This whole “respect women” philosophy looks like a defense to discourage her from having natural sexual relationships. This is directed towards men as well. Its like if you respect a girl then you are not supposed to have sexual feelings towards her. Why not ?  Why can’t guys respect a girl and still be sexually attracted towards her?  Why is she not treated as a human being that has natural desires like food, water and Sex just like any other person. You know why they don’t preach “Respect Men” on Social Media ? As a kid, I always used to wonder why my parents used to keep saying “respect women, respect girls”. I wondered why they didn’t say it about the other class; Men. “Respect Men” looks uncanny. Probably because the society can clearly dissociate respect and sex easily for men. “This taxi respects women. Mein mahilaon ki izzat karta hun” Why you need to respect them? Why can’t we treat them just like normal human beings ? This whole “Respect Women” backfires to women only. Think about it. Pause. So the next time you hear this phrase. Do understand the context in which it is used. DO NOT RESPECT WOMEN ( Instead learn to treat them like normal human beings with natural sexual urges just like any other person ).

Movie Review: The stoning of Soraya M.

When we talk about "Women" in this society, people have a fixed notion of considering them as a physically weak, emotionally unstable, and submissive in nature. After watching "The stoning of Soraya M." I was emotionally unstable. I could only think about why and how someone can do this with anybody. This kind of a brutal behaviour with anyone depicts the sick mind of a person. When we talk about equal rights for women I do not ask for reservation, I ask for equal amount of respect and dignity a men gets in the society. We are living in a world where a man is allowed to have external affairs but a women after marriage can not have male friends. The govt. is willing to give reservations for women in metro trains, jobs, etc. But what about the basic thing? I am not against any religion or govt. I am against the people who have no mercy, love, compassion towards its own beings. Killing, raping, humiliating, torturing, molesting women all have become the lead news of a newspaper. All I ask is why? I do not want separate coaches for women to travel. We are not different. Ask the men out there to change. If they will change their thoughts and beliefs the world will become a better place to live in. This movie has not only given a moral message but has also told all of us that women like Zahra exist in society. All we ought to have is faith in the almighty and stand against the evil. Not every men is to be blamed but those who are dogs in the form of men must be severely punished. No law is greater than humanity. Serve humanity!

Beauty

Beauty! What is beauty? "Beautiful is a girl who is as fair as the snow, who is like the moon which dazzles at the night, the one who has long beautiful hair, features good enough to get infatuated, a figure like that of a neck of a peacock, and last but not the least the million dollar smile. " I heard them saying. I have no regrets for being not fair like the snow, I do not want to dazzle like the moon because it only shines at the night, I do not wish for long beautiful hair because it is too mainstream, I do not want features so that infatuation occurs instead I want my eyes to smile when people look in it, I do not seek to become like that of a peacocks neck instead I'd like to carry the confidence of a lioness when she walks in the jungle, I do not need a million dollar smile rather I'd like a million people to smile because of me. This is beauty. They looked at me and said, "You're beautiful" and then came the priceless smile on all of our faces. A beautiful heart, a beautiful soul is the only true definition of being beautiful.
