Euthanasia

Creative Commons License

According to Wikipedia-Euthanasia is the practice of intentionally ending a life in order to relieve pain and suffering.”
Let me start with an example. Guzaarish was a very famous Hindi movie released back in 2010 which was written, directed and composed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. It is the story of a once renowned yet now paralyzed magician who pleas in the court to allow him to end his life. When the court denied to give permission he proved his state of being by almost suffocating a lawyer and then speaking the most magnificent dialogue of the movie by saying-“You couldn’t even live five minutes of my life but you expect me to go on like this till my death.”
There are various angles to this concept. In some countries this not at all permitted no matter how severe the case is. In some countries the doctor is allowed to take a patient’s life, only if the patient requests the doctor to do so. In some countries the family members can intervene in this and ask the doctor to end the patient’s life to liberate him from all the pains and sufferings. So according to all this, euthanasia can be voluntary and involuntary. Voluntary euthanasia is legal in some countries whereas involuntary euthanasia is illegal in every country. Involuntary euthanasia is generally considered as murder.
The supporters of euthanasia come up with points that an individual is mature enough to take decisions of his own life. So he should be allowed to determine what happens to him. At times, assisting a subject to die is better than forcing him to go through the pains. And permitting euthanasia will not necessarily lead to unacceptable consequences.
The opponents of euthanasia reject the above points by saying that not all deaths are painful. At times the pain can be controlled by professional help from the doctors. Most importantly, legalising euthanasia places society on a slippery slope. Anyone can use it for their own benefits. For example, if someone actually wants to commit suicide or when the family members fail to pay the fees of hospital and they decide to kill the patient or when people want to get rid of someone.
In my opinion, euthanasia should not be legalized. It should be allowed only in some special cases where only the patient will have a say and not even the family members. Infect at times, doctors in spite of being requested by the family members to terminate a patient’s life, continue to provide the person with life supporting system on humanitarian basis.  Every person has the right to live and his/her right to live should only be terminated by the almighty or by himself/herself.

A Teachers Value

A person who is seen as a nation-builder, who is expected to fulfill his or her duties in and outside the educational propaganda, who is the one of those many factors for a person’s career and who is very responsible for the growth of a country morally, ethically and intellectually: he or she is none other than a teacher.
An edutopia is something that every student craves for. A teacher can only come up with ideas to fulfill this fantasy which would otherwise seem bizarre. The teacher not only should be a teacher but should also be able to play a role of a friend who can stand with his/her students in their sorrows and their bereavements. The major goals in education can be stated in terms of pre-acquired knowledge and the knowledge yet to achieve. Great teachers somewhere are the mediators between these two stages. They build the bridge to connect these two. It is rightly said that:
Teachers are those candles who burn themselves to give light to their students.”
A great teacher ensures that his/her student is brought up in a nurturing as well as a challenging environment. The young sapling in the form of students must face the coolness of the water that is poured on them as well as the hotness of the sunlight that is essential for their growth.
The teacher needs to create a welcoming and not a hostile learning environment. Every student’s view no matter how minimal, should be given importance. A teacher irrespective of his/her intellect and degrees, must take the teaching process as bidirectional. S/He should always be ready for the new things that s/he can learn from the students.
A teacher must create a sense of belonging in the classroom. Nobody, irrespective of their intellect, should feel alienated. Each student should feel that s/he is an integral part of the entire group and his/her presence is absolutely necessary for the educational outcome to be fruitful. A teacher should be away from any personal bias and should treat every student equally. Great teachers must also be good listeners. They should take time out of their way-too busy schedule to be available for their students. One of the abilities of a great teacher which can never be neglected is the ability to leave his/her personal baggage outside. Even if it is a bad day for the teachers, nobody gets to know. The teacher should impact in each child the desire to fulfill his or her dreams. The teachers must elicit their students’ best efforts and should always try to keep their mind engaged, so that even if they leave the classrooms they must feel alive with the fountains of new and innovative ideas. The teachers most importantly should walk their own talk.
These are some of the characteristics that the teachers must carry within themselves. But there are also some technicalities that a teacher must adapt in order to make his/her class even better.
In spite of being theoretical about concepts, a teacher must focus on vocational education. We might forget something that we hear as it involves application of only one sense organ, but if we are allowed to experiment on the same or see it live then the concept is expected to stay longer as we had all our sense organs working in the same direction.
A teacher is the fountain head of all knowledge. There is no doubt that s/he would know almost everything. But it is very important that the teachers must focus on bringing out the answers from the students. It is obvious that every student has some pre-acquired knowledge, attitude and skills. A great teacher must emphasis on taking that pre-acquired knowledge forward. This will not only raise the student’s confidence but also it will help the students in thinking more and more.
A teacher must know how to incorporate different teaching styles when one is not working. For ex: If an English teachers wants his/her students to feel the play, then that would never ever be possible if s/he simply reads out the play in front of the students. S/he must allot the students roles, so that when they play it, they feel it too. By this there is also one more advantage, i.e., they remember the lines of the play which not only allows them to fetch good marks in the exams but will also help them in the nearby future.
A teacher must show the excitement to co-learn which will make his/her students feel comfortable to express their own views and opinions.
A teacher must be like a compass which activates the magnets of curiosity, knowledge, intellect and wisdom. A teacher can give students assignments which should be different from others. In the technical 21st century, use of internet to jot down things that have already been done, has become a fashion. To stop students from committing a sin like plagiarism, a teacher must introduce new and unique topics for the assignments. For ex: A student living in a certain locality can conduct a survey on that exact locality regarding something. This assignment for sure will not be available in any corner of the internet. This will not only make the assignment new and unique, it will also provide the student with a chance to know his/her surroundings better.
A teacher at times can take the help of guest speakers, who have expertise in particular fields. These lectures will help the students create an interest to know more and more about that particular topic. To make the assignments more interesting, teachers can ask the students to search it in a crossword puzzle, or in a collage or in a poster or jigsaw puzzle maps. The teachers must teach the student to read through the lines so that they get more detailed information than the rest of the world. Use of various aids like visual aids, recordings will help them in understanding the topics or the concepts.
I will conclude this with a thought that:
A warrior wins the battle only if his weapons are pioneering, in this modern world the teacher is a warrior, with the educational propaganda as his/her battle field and the teaching methods as well as his/her characteristics as his/her only weapons.”

Image resultFriends Tv Series ain't seen nothing like this ever before. This is so much more than a TV Series for those who have seen it. It was this day when I started to see six friends hanging out together day and night at a coffee place. I was astounded to see it like this. We all in our life tend to make friends on and often. Everybody wishes to be the most popular and liked one in his or her clan. But the reality is we really need a t few people whom we can always trust on. This is maybe an era of despondency for those people who are striving to find happiness in the outside world. We all must know that a person is happy when it's happy inside. If you're happy and you perform good deeds, you're life will be no less than what you want it to be. Friends not only taught me how to deal with problems it has also taught me to be happy and laugh at the problems which drops by in our lives sometimes. Nothing ever is a permanent ending. There's always a scope for the sun to shine and you must feel its warmth then. Be as loving as Ross Geller Be as crazy as Phoebe Buffay Be as neat as Monica Geller Be as jolly as Joey Tribbiani Be as funny as Chandler Bing Be as beautiful as Rachel Green Life is the most precious gift. You choose to luxuriate in it or you detest it and cry.

The "De-Bait" (Trump VS Clinton)

Creative Commons License

USA's Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton being the hottest topic in the global village has now set a trend to form a "Debate" into a "De-Bait" according to me. Mr.Trump has been continuously accusing Clinton of deleting the e-mails sent to her. The emails which were sent or received by Clinton were being stored on one private server. When being asked for the records from her time as secretary of state, Clinton on the astute mode ordered her lawyers to give the State Department all of her "work-related" emails.
On the other hand Clinton kept on accusing Trump for the "locker room talk" wherein Trump's been pivoting Bill Clinton's (husband of Hillary Clinton) 2005 tape which showed three women being assaulted by Bill Clinton.
"If you look at Bill Clinton, it was worse, mine was words, his was actions." says Trump "What he's done to women, there's never been anyone in the history of politics that's been so abusive," he added
Hillary Clinton in response quoted Michelle Obama: "When they go low, you go high" refusing to take the bait.
If we take the view point of Trump he's been always a strong and confident person when it came to his idea of taking the law into his hands. He's no doubt a outspoken and short-tempered person but he clearly defines his goals for the country.
Hillary Clinton on the other hand has been continuously receiving appraisal for her calm and serene nature. She believes in actions unlike Trump who is out spoken and aggressive. Clinton's only flaw could be her introvert nature when it comes to the country's goals and the ways of accomplishing the goals would surely turn out as a disadvantage for her during the elections.

The debates are nothing but a bait which is alluring the minds of people and swaying it in a way which is a lot confusing for the citizens of The United States to understand who is being the chameleon at present.
The "Debate" has surely turned into a "De-Bait" at this moment of time.

Point of view

People talk about westernization. They talk about being open minded. They set up camps, seminars, workshops and what not in a hope of seeing to change people's mentality. But the fact is everything's just so screwed up. Nothing works for these kinda hypocrites. The mentality sticks to a thing wherein a guy has to be just a girl's brother. I ask this simple thing, which era are we actually living in? If a brother hugs his sister in public it's manners and protection and security for a girl but if a guy whom the girl really trust hugs her it's cheap, not the values of the family, and hey how dare you even touch her? You might be dangerous to her. You might wanna kill her. I'm not saying that the world outside is trustable I'm only saying if we try to trust each other we'll all end up having faith in each others decisions. I'm not saying we forget our values and degrade our self respect I'm only saying to try seeing things in an open perspective. A respect given is equal to a hundred times respect earned.

Movie Review: Mohenjodaro

Creative Commons License
This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License.
Director Ashutosh Gowariker has never failed to inscribe the audience when it comes to historical movies. He's such an expert that he gets down to the core and makes such kinda movies which takes the Indian cinema to absolutely another level. Hrithik Roshan after Jodha Akbar has made another remarkable performance in Mohenjodaro. The movie has a lot of sand, peculiar costumes and some dismal computer graphics, particularly in the damp climax. The VFX of the movie is absolutely stunning and it surely gives goosebumps in the end. Though there have been many controversies regarding the movies's plot line but it's truly a must watch. The ancient history of Mohenjodaro is not burdensome. The movie has depicted itself in such a way that I would even suggest the school teachers to make the students watch it. Another thing in the movie which has not camouflaged itself is the music by A. R. Rahman . The title track of the movie itself is noteworthy. The perfect use of instruments can only be done by Rahman sir in the industry. I feel that we should all be proud of the history of our country as none other country has such a vast and distinguished history. The movie should be seen by all the history lovers especially ancient history lovers.

The Indus Valley Civilization has always kept a vast account of syllabus for the students in the middle school. No doubt that those days in the class all this seemed to be a bore and we as students literally dozed off. But who knew that one day we'll actually see what we're studying and it would kill all the boredom of the ancient history we thought of. The movie was in class by itself.

Movie Review: Now you see me 2

A greater conscience and knowledge defines a great movie maker. Sequels are made to strike the minds of people with more creativity and a desire to awaken some old memories. Now You See Me 2 has finally cut the mustard and eradicated what you heard on the grapevine. However, the movie stays a bit low in this world that thrives on relativity and many of us would insist on the superiority of the prequel. The movie revolves around the Illusionists (four horsemen) designing a strong hustle and bustle to snub a tech magnate carrying and concealing unethical practices. However, their stern intentions turn serene when they find themselves caught between two stools. Talented names like Jesse Eisenberg, Dave Franco and Woody Harrelson have done a commendable job at playing characters with intricate complexities. The new face, Lizzy Caplan comes in as Lula who tries to create more impact by taking decisions at the drop of a hat. Such is the script by Ed Solomon (a clever, clever man). A prank is played on them when they discover that the man manipulating their actions is a tech prodigy named Water Mabry (Daniel Radcliffe) who lives his life on the theory “work for your own benefits’.Caught in the middle of the crossfire is Dylan Rhodes, (Mark Ruffalo) an FBI agent who is has his own personal agenda, to avenge his father. Few action scenes may catch your attention and leave you gaping, but more important is thoughts that the film provokes, as you innocently munch your movie snacks. Thereafter, the road to achieve supreme manifestation and magic tricks get wayward and you lose track of who is running after whom and why. The plot peaks with the horsemen running after Daniel Radcliffe for stealing a chip that can control all other chips. Still here? You must be a fan of the Director Jon.M CHU, who has undoubtedly won several hearts with his Step Up movies. But the movie goes beyond his reach too as the commotion escalates to its pinnacle following which the story starts to absquatulate. While the first part was a bit more gratifying, with puzzling magic tricks and quick chases, this one is a bit gaudier for the mind and you might have your hands up at the interval time. The prequel was a much more blast than this but NYSM2 undoubtedly managed to thrill it's fans by creating a zest in their hearts. The actors have done a "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" work. The eminent actors have kept the movie going and has impressed the viewers leaving no incredulity in their minds. Some are really amused by the new faces introduced and they have really given their all to match upto the expectations. This movie may not make you sit at the edge of your seat or contain great magic tricks as its predecessor, but, is surely panoply of different emotions, interesting characters and a road with twists and turns. Therefore, if you’re a fan of fast-paced thrillers, Now You See Me 2 may not be the absolute best within its genre but it definitely makes for an entertaining watch. Go for it. Rating: 3.5 stars

Movie Review: Udta Punjab

#UdtaPunjab After so many controversies the movie is worth watching. Those who saw it before the release, you're the people who have no respect for cinema or for the country. The first half of the movie starts with a chaotic scene wherein one needs to have full focus on what's actually happening. The movie develops a story which is truly remarkable. The director along with the actors have proved that a movie like Udta Punjab can not only promise to bring a change in the society but it also awakens the youth by telling where they are leading to. We all may be going for the movie just because of the publicity and attention it has gained but people who are really into drug addiction must see this movie. The movie has nothing controversial. Studying in Punjab for two years, I've seen and known these things pretty much. But all that I stood was for say no to drugs. Drugs might give a person a temporary euphoric aura but eventually it leads to death. By death I don't mean the physical absence but mostly the death of a person's mind. Taking drugs will not only affect the taker but the whole family has to pay the cost of it. People must realise that living is worthy only if it's happy living. One cannot run from sufferings but one can always try not to create it. I thank the cinema for making this kind of a movie and telling all of us that "Being Gabru" is not the motto of life. But being the real "Tommy Singh" is what we should intend for. Don't let Punjab die. Don't let India die. #SayNoToDrugs

Honor Killing

Allah says in Quran, "Whosoever kills an innocent human being, it shall be as if he has killed all mankind, and whosoever saves the life of one, it shall be as if he had saved the life of all mankind." (Qur'an 5:32) When we talk about "Honor Killing" , the general notion that comes to all of us is the homicide of a member of a family by other members, due to perpetrators' belief that the victim has brought shame or dishonor upon the family. But it is actually a death that is awarded to a person of a family for certain reasons which brings dishonor to its family. How can we determine the real meaning of 'dishonor' ? They say here, " If you violate the principles of a community or religion, usually for reasons such as refusing for an arranged marriage or being in a relationship that is an abashment to their family or having sex outside marriage, also dressing in a way that is conjectured unsuitable in the society and much more. Why does "Honor Killing" happen? The doctrine of honor killing states that, this type of act is primarily done to control the women's behavior, in particular regard to sexuality/male interaction/marriage. Another key aspect which is contemplated in the society is the concern of the reputation of the family in the community, and the besmirchment associated with losing social status in the society. The main victim of the honor killing is seen to be the woman of a family. In India, the main reason which evolves the to urge of practicing honor killing is the continuation of caste system. The caste system continues to be at its rigid best and also that rural areas refuse to change their perseverance towards the obsolete marriage practices. Hence they become coward in the fear of losing their caste status in the society through which they may avail perks leading them to commit this heinous crime. Another reason is the mentality of the people has not changed. The root of the cause for the increase in the number of honor killing is the lack of availability of wisdom and awareness in the rural areas and a result this crime is day by day increasing. What can we do to prevent such a thing from happening? Firstly the mentality of the people has to change. This change of mentality doesn't mean we become very lenient and casual in our lives and let things happen the way it is happening rather we must become wise and foresee the consequences of our daily acts we commit. Parents must understand their children and let them lead a life with their life partners and if they are discontented with their life partner they must think of something which would not bring harm or disgrace to selves and their partners and also family. If they intend to do something pernicious then they will lead a horrible married life which might even end in suicide. Secondly, we need to have stringent laws to tackle these kind of killings as this is a crime which can not be pardoned by anyone under any circumstance. Humans do not have the right to write down death sentences of innocent fellow humans.

Do not respect women!

Do not respect women! Such an eye catching title ? Isn’t it?  Read on.The article is in complete agreement with the title. So if you were expecting it to be a pathetic attempt at sarcasm, you will be disappointed. Respect Women. How many times have you read or heard this line in your daily life ? Most probably in Social media, Newspapers, online articles, comment sections etc. Have you paused to understand why is it more popular than its sibling : Respect Men. What? Respect Men ? Are you out of your mind ? I am not another FemiNazi posting a one sided rant about women issues and the problem’s they face because of Men. I will skip that discussion for some other day. Those issues exist for everyone of us. What bothers me about this whole  “Respect Women” philosophy is how this is being sold as the solution to all the problems Women face. A women got raped ?  Well respect women. ( Exactly, instead of teaching people that rape is actually lack of consent ). A women is being forced for dowry by her in laws. Well respect women. ( Instead of taking strict action against those who demand dowry ). A Women is being objectified by Media. Well , respect Women. ( Instead of accepting that a woman is capable of having natural sexual urges as well that makes her a normal human being). A Women does not get equal wages and job opportunities. Well, respect women. ( Instead of taking strict action against those who give biased treatment because of your gender ) And many other silly reasonings we see from people to support this “respect women” theory. Not single one of us bothered questioning the very existence of such statements. A simple google search of the word “Respect” results in admire (someone or something) deeply, as a result of their abilities, qualities, or achievements have due regard for (someone’s feelings, wishes, or rights). From the above meanings , we conclude that respect simply means giving regard to women’s feelings, wishes and her rights. The famous “Nirbhaya Rape Case”where an unofficial documentary was released by the BBC on the mentality of a rapist. “Koi izzatdaar ghar ki ladhki itni raat ko ghar se bahaar nahi nikalti”. Hence she does not deserve respect. Hence is it okay to rape her. ? Is it okay to rape women whom you do not respect ? This goes on to prove that how we tend to not use the literal meaning of the word ‘respect’ in the context of the Indian Society. How respect is supposed to be given to only those Women who devoid themselves of sex. So I ask you. Women who have multiple serial partners don’t deserve respect? “Aurat ghar ki izzat hoti hai”. Another popular saying in Indian Household that again associates women with respect and sex. This whole “respect women” philosophy looks like a defense to discourage her from having natural sexual relationships. This is directed towards men as well. Its like if you respect a girl then you are not supposed to have sexual feelings towards her. Why not ?  Why can’t guys respect a girl and still be sexually attracted towards her?  Why is she not treated as a human being that has natural desires like food, water and Sex just like any other person. You know why they don’t preach “Respect Men” on Social Media ? As a kid, I always used to wonder why my parents used to keep saying “respect women, respect girls”. I wondered why they didn’t say it about the other class; Men. “Respect Men” looks uncanny. Probably because the society can clearly dissociate respect and sex easily for men. “This taxi respects women. Mein mahilaon ki izzat karta hun” Why you need to respect them? Why can’t we treat them just like normal human beings ? This whole “Respect Women” backfires to women only. Think about it. Pause. So the next time you hear this phrase. Do understand the context in which it is used. DO NOT RESPECT WOMEN ( Instead learn to treat them like normal human beings with natural sexual urges just like any other person ).

Movie Review: The stoning of Soraya M.

When we talk about "Women" in this society, people have a fixed notion of considering them as a physically weak, emotionally unstable, and submissive in nature. After watching "The stoning of Soraya M." I was emotionally unstable. I could only think about why and how someone can do this with anybody. This kind of a brutal behaviour with anyone depicts the sick mind of a person. When we talk about equal rights for women I do not ask for reservation, I ask for equal amount of respect and dignity a men gets in the society. We are living in a world where a man is allowed to have external affairs but a women after marriage can not have male friends. The govt. is willing to give reservations for women in metro trains, jobs, etc. But what about the basic thing? I am not against any religion or govt. I am against the people who have no mercy, love, compassion towards its own beings. Killing, raping, humiliating, torturing, molesting women all have become the lead news of a newspaper. All I ask is why? I do not want separate coaches for women to travel. We are not different. Ask the men out there to change. If they will change their thoughts and beliefs the world will become a better place to live in. This movie has not only given a moral message but has also told all of us that women like Zahra exist in society. All we ought to have is faith in the almighty and stand against the evil. Not every men is to be blamed but those who are dogs in the form of men must be severely punished. No law is greater than humanity. Serve humanity!

Beauty

Beauty! What is beauty? "Beautiful is a girl who is as fair as the snow, who is like the moon which dazzles at the night, the one who has long beautiful hair, features good enough to get infatuated, a figure like that of a neck of a peacock, and last but not the least the million dollar smile. " I heard them saying. I have no regrets for being not fair like the snow, I do not want to dazzle like the moon because it only shines at the night, I do not wish for long beautiful hair because it is too mainstream, I do not want features so that infatuation occurs instead I want my eyes to smile when people look in it, I do not seek to become like that of a peacocks neck instead I'd like to carry the confidence of a lioness when she walks in the jungle, I do not need a million dollar smile rather I'd like a million people to smile because of me. This is beauty. They looked at me and said, "You're beautiful" and then came the priceless smile on all of our faces. A beautiful heart, a beautiful soul is the only true definition of being beautiful.

CSR in LPU

INTRODUCTION:
India is part of an old civilisation but it is a young nation. It received its independence back in 1947. From that very year our country has thrived pretty hard to develop in every aspect. Top companies wrestle to establish their base in India as no other country would give them the opportunity to have such an extravagant and live market.
As said earlier, India is a young nation. All our hopes have always been associated with the young. The young, now what does it refer to? It refers to the children, the same children who form the backbone of our country. Are they provided with enough facilities that they will turn into assets for our country or they will remain as liabilities just like others? Will they lend their shoulders to carry on our country in the path of development? Is our government bothered enough for them?

HISTORY:
Over the years, Government has introduced many projects. May it be “Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan” or the very famous “Mid-Day Meal Scheme” to lure the students in coming to school, fact is that none of them has been successful enough. Now some will contradict this statement and say that there is a tremendous increase in the literacy rate. I agree there is increase in the literacy rate. But as asked before how many people out of this educated bunch are actually an asset to the country and not just liabilities? The increase in literacy rate is meaningless because earning degrees is not going to help the country in anyway. How are you utilising your earned knowledge ion the land which has helped you in achieving all that matters a lot.
Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar, one of the biggest cricket stars this country has ever produced and this world has ever seen. He is just a matriculate yet he commands and demands respect and love from the entire planet. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, the people’s president, had had no scope of getting proper primary education but he became the 11th president of world’s largest democracy. Dhirubhai Ambani, one of the biggest business giants this country has ever witnessed, had no proper education. But the legacy of his business empire is still carried on. Now why all these examples? It is because none of them relied only on education, they focused on the other aspects also which are now aptly called as the Vocational Courses.

Our main focus, as shown above, is children. Projects started by government have short term effects. They learn, they forget. Some out of that lot excels and gets a white collared job, but then he also becomes a part of the rooster coop system. Nobody tries to do something out of the box.  These people are very creative and have far more practical exposure than we would ever have in our entire life. These little bundles of joy are stacked with energy. All we need to do is to channelize these bundles of energy into a positive form and use it in a productive way.
PLAN: We can train those children under the students who are already doing better in their respective propaganda's. Who knows, some children out of that bunch might go on to become one of the best dancers or singers or players this world has ever witnessed!

PROCEDURE:
These children can be brought to the university twice or thrice a week, mainly in the weekends. Our students can look for their interest and guide them in the things they are interested in.  This should be made free of cost as they cannot afford any expenses. LPU organises so many events. In some events they should be allowed to perform so that it boosts their confidence level and they remain prepared for their future endeavors. Our collaborations with various organizations can help these talents reach the best platforms.

CONCLUSION:
God has given us so much. Nothing will be taken away from us if we help these tiny tots. It will be a blessing in disguise if we shape someone’s future in a better way than s/he had ever imagined. Nothing can be better than this. Then may be our country India will thrive not only for Literacy Rate but also for success in every field. Then we can call it properly developed and not only literally.
